What is more perplexing is that the Mockingboard output works fine. I have looked at the Windows mixer and verified that the sound is not muted and is in fact at 100% for AppleWin when it is running. I have literally tried every combination of sound settings imaginable, but can't even get a simple beep. Now I can't get any built-in sound output at all from AppleWin (i.e., the system beeper/clicker).

AC Wi-Fi adapters have to be plugged into a USB 3.0 port to reach full speeds (in a USB 2.0 port, the best they will get are N speeds). Another possibility is what kind of USB port the adapter is plugged into.

In case you want to use the WiFi, then you need a tool that allows emulation inside virtualization. Once the program is booted, go to the Settings icon, select Uthernet – which is disabled by default – and choose the interface you want to work with. Check the Network connections to make sure that you have a Wireless Network Connection Icon/Entry, and that the Properties of the Icon (right click on the Icon) are correctly configured with TCP/IPv4 protocol in the Network Connections Properties.
